Master Chief is the Comedy Sensation of the Decade

Arby & The Chief is just about the funniest web series I've seen. It's mostly gamer humor, which means lots of satirical uses of l33t/LOL speak, but it's so well done I want to give the kid that puts it all together his own 6-picture deal. Hell, this dude show be running a studio. He knows what people want. People want Odd Couple style humor coming out of the mouths of Halo figurines with Stephen Hawking voices.

Despite the first few minutes of the above video, this series isn't a machinma. Perish the thought. It's good old fashioned action figure actors, like you used to do when you were a kid with a VHC-C video camera.

Obsessive Gamer Triple Feature: "Pac Man Pugs," "A Very Zelda Halloween" and "Blame Halo 3"

In penance for the pretty awful gamer video I linked to yesterday, here are three clips that are much better. First are some ultra-cute Pac Man Pugs.

Gaaawwwwwwwww! Next is "A Very Zelda Halloween," the highlight of which is the host wielding the Master Sword with full hearts, if you know what I'm saying:

Okay, I'm mildly sorry for showing you that. I promise this next one isn't as weird, it's just a nice boy singing about his Halo 3 obsession. Much better than "Buy Mii a Wii," really!

Leaked Live Action Halo Short

This is the follow-up to the Halo short "Arms Race," which you can see after the jump. I like this one better than the first, because there's actually some shit going down and it doesn't look as CGy. Director Neill Blomkampt has always been good at making the out-of-this-world seem very real (check out his previous work, also after the jump) and this Halo stuff certainly continues that rep.

E3: Insane Media Overload Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of our coverage of everybody else's coverage of E3. Starting off, we've got a trailer for the hotly anticipated Super Mario Galaxy:

It sure looks good, but I have to wonder: why are most Simpsons games about fighting? There's rarely any fights on the show, so it seems incongruous that that would be the go-to genre for Simpsons video game developers. Why not an adventure game that has you actually progressing through a hilarious Simpsons story, or a Bully-style sandbox game where you run around Springfield pranking people and carrying out specific missions for people? That being said, this game sho is pretty. Also keep an eye out for Matt Groening himself as the end boss, as reported by Eurogamer.

It's hard to tell if this will be fun or not. The only thing I do know is those chaps playing are grating. I like something as simple as the hand-raising motion to "get called on." I hope the emphasis is on trivia and not those little epileptic minigames they do a couple times.

This is the first time I noticed how good the game looks. It sure moves well, and has a lot of nice art direction touches.
