Weekanerd NYC - Highly Eccentric Edition: Ping Pong Champions, SteamPunk Chrono'Nauts, and The Car Music Project

FRIDAY, AUGUST 3, 2007
No mere hipster sporting event, this tournie will feature some world-class professional ping pongers defending their titles against the tight-panted upstarts of the Lower East Side's PONG League. This event is set to last till the midnight hour, but arrive early if you want in cause this is Kind of A Big Deal and space is limited.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 4, 2007
Ready for some high concept shenanigans? Organized via this LiveJournal Community, a gang of folks will be attending the Ren Faire in Victorian and Steam-Punk garb, and will participate in the faire as "chrono'naut" time travelers. This. Is. Awesome. Anyone can play along, just join the LJ Community to get the full story and let them know you're coming. And send us pictures!

A composer and his band of henchmen created a set of wacked-out musical instruments from pieces of a broken down '82 Honda Accord. Now they perform experimental jazz concerts with them. Mad science at it's finest! Listen to their mech'ed out jams here. I recommend "Noodles", which sounds a little Ike Parliament Funkadelic's contribution to the PCU soundtrack, if was was composed during the post-apocalypse.
