Warner Bros is reporting that they've greenlit TWO Akira films to be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way. The movies will based on the epic original manga, in which the story of the animated movie was just a blip. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is on board for the troubled Tetsuo, and it's rumored that Leo himself may be taking up the role of Kaneda.Via Ain't It Cool News.
