A Very Geekanerdy Halloween: Wii Edition

Geekanerd reader Joe sent us this pic of himself celebrating X-Ween by dressing like a Wiimote. He's clearly having to defend himself against drunken gamers hoping to waggle him. Says Joe: "Several people who saw it (mostly girls) told me they thought I was a pregnancy test."

Anyone else have a good costume? Surely there are some Chell/Weighted Companion Cube combos out there...

LucasArts Bastards Holding Out On Us With Wii-Saber Game

From the moment the Wiimote was revealed every Geekanerd that wasn't too busy learning Klingon thought the same thing: "Vroooom, zhooom, crackle crackle!" Now LucasArts claims they've already got the damn thing going! Jim Ward, president of LucasArts, says "We’re all over that, and internally we have already played a lightsaber game on the Wii. It’s a lot of fun, and we’ll get there."

Translation: "Hell yeah we've got it! Shit is FUUUUNNN, too! Don't expect to get your grubby little Cheeto hands on it, though, cause we're having such a blast playing it I don't expect we'll have enough free time to actually release the thing. But hey... Adventure? Excitement? A Jedi craves not these things... ::snicker::"

Manhunt 2 Axed!

Well, not quite. But Take-Two Interactive has "temporarily suspended" the ultraviolent video game (originally slated for a July 10 release) after having a week of serious setbacks. The game was flat out banned in the UK, and the ESRB rated the US release AO, as in Adults Only, as in most retailers won't sell it and Nintendo and Sony won't allow it on their systems. Read Take-Two Interactive's statement at Gamespot, and visit IGN for some gory details about what it's like to use a Wiimote to saw someone in half from the groin up.

UPDATE: See what the ESRB has to say about everything over at Kotaku.
