Six Months In, People are Still Waiting for a Wii
When I walked into the Nintendo World Store yesterday I was convinced something big was going on. There was a long line snaking all through the store. I asked a guy in line if there was some sort of event going on. "Nope," he said. "Just waiting for a Wii." Shawha!? A store employee goes on to tell me that they have a line like this EVERY DAY to consume the daily shipment, and they're sold out of their Wiis by 11am or Noon. It's been over six months! This is crazy bones.
Also, Kotaku has an blurb linking to a USA Today article on the same subject.

Well duh... how do you think i got My wii a couple weeks ago? I had to wake up crazy early to be there at store open to get it. Suckers sell out in a couple hours they said (and they come in like once a week or so) I waited in line for an hour or so
Nintendo has a history of doing this crap! Remember when you used to lust at the process of owning your own copy of Super Mario Bros. 2 for NES, but there were never any available in stores? I sure do! I was supposed to be saving up my money to buy it, but one day Mom saw a copy, and so she felt obliged to buy it before I had all the money! Damn Nintendo! Fine products, just bad logistics!
