While Albo spent his time at the DigitalLife Holiday expo getting the specs on a metal box full of expensive home theater equipment, I gravitated more towards the booths with pleasing cartoon shapes. I would up at the display for Npower, Nickelodeon's new line of consumer electronics for "kids of all ages" or, to put it another way, actual kids and dorky adults.
I was particularly entranced by this itty-bitty SpongeBob camera. It's more fashion statement than gadget, as the resolution tops out at 640x480. But hey, it's only $20 bucks and the design is pretty remarkable, particularly because the thing looks like the mutant offspring of SpongeBob and Plankton, the villain of the series. Surely I am not the only one who sees this.
