Every Monday, we at Geekanerd rip panels from last Wednesday's comics and post the best, the worst, and the weirdest. This edition is short and extremely sweet.
Beatdown Of The Week - Detective Comics, #850
Dayyyum!
Lately in the BatBooks, it seems that Alfred has taken over the Robin's role of most popular hostage. In 'Tec #850, he gets his revenge.
That's Hush disguised as Bruce Wayne, who comes to Wayne Manor intending to fool Alfred into revealing the Bat Cave. Not so fast, Bandage Boy; you're dealing with ex-black ops agent Pennyworth from the Queen's Royal Service! Or something like that. The point is, this is awesome, and if Alfred had aimed just a little higher with his first palm strike, Bruce's rouges gallery would now be reviewing resumes.

the awesomeness of this beatdown is undeniable...but it would have been cooler if Batman hadn't called ahead and Alfred deduced it wasn't Bruce all by himself (maybe a quip about Elliot still wearing his Hush gear)
I didn't even notice that Hush hadn't changed out of his trenchcoat! What a dork! Alfred probably BUYS Bruce's entire wardrobe, he totally would have caught that. Paul Dini is usually so good at letting characters deduce stuff whenever possible, this being DETECTIVE comics. Oh well, one can't have everything.
he also didn't bother to take off his red gloves... trenchcoat is one thing... but when has bruce EVER worn red gloves... that's a pretty big give away too. Not very bright on Hush's part... but i'm sure he was in a hurry
