Tina Fey Is A Geekanerd: BFF With Princess Leia

Earlier this week, Tina Fey stopped by Late Night with Conan O'Brian and confessed her Star Wars fandom. The proof starts at around 4:45...
  • She owned the 24 inch Millennium Falcon toy as a kid (who didn't? Geek Cred: 2)
  • She plans to dress her daughter up as Princess Leia for Halloween (Indoctrinating the offspring? Well done. Geek Cred: 50)
  • She got Carrie Fisher to guest star on 30 Rock and and wrote her the line, "Help me Liz Lemon, you're my only hope." (Using fame and power to fulfill geek fantasies?! Geek Cred: 500,000!)
I'm tellin' ya, folks, this lady is on the cover of geek magazine. No, literally. On the vid at 5:27, there she is on the cover.

Janeane Garofalo is a Geekanerd:
Refs Y: The Last Man in Political Debate

A couple of days ago Janeane Garofalo was on Bill Maher's program and brought up Brian K. Vaughn's Y: The Last Man when responding to Sally Field's comments that if mothers ruled the world there would be no wars. Salman Rushdie is sitting next to her and is like "WTF, mate?" The quote in question comes at 3:40 in the above video. Thanks to Joe for the tip!

Hilary Clinton is a Geekanerd:
Calls Cheney Darth Vader

Ben Smith at Politico is reporting that yesterday Hilary Clinton set her sights on the Geekanerd demo by accusing Vice President Dick Cheney of being the most notorious of Sith Lords at a New York fundraiser. She said, and I quote:
Vice President [Dick] Cheney came up to see the Republicans yesterday. You can always tell when the Republicans are getting restless, because the Vice President’s motorcade pulls into the Capitol, and Darth Vader emerges.
Snap! In other news, Googling "darth cheney" will get you a surprising number of pictures of the Vice Sithident.

Clark Duke is a Geekanerd

If you don't know him, Clark Duke is the co-star/creator of Clark and Michael, an internet series he does with Michael Cera (Arrested Development, Superbad). He also plays the part of "Party Teenager #1" in Superbad. AND, he's like the biggest Geekanerd ever. Check it:
I recently got the Morrison New X-Men Omnibus. I had all the single issues, but it’s great to have them all in one place. This is how nerdy I am – I’ve got all four Flex Mentallo issues…hard copy. No Internet for me! That’s like the coolest thing in my collection, along with my complete run of Miracleman. That one took a while – the last six issues were impossible to find. It took me years on eBay – issue #15, the one with Kid Miracleman, that cost me like $80, but it was worth it. It was a CGC copy that I took out of the case.
Wowee! Go to Newsarama for the full interview and be awed by his great taste in current comics, and also check out our past "...Is a Geekanerd" segments.

Jessica Alba Is A Geekanerd

What a Geekanerd post to be talking about "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer: The Video Game", a video game based on a movie based on a comic book!!! The Holy Trinity of Geekanerdom rolled up into one product! Eh, I'm sure it sucks. Jessica Alba seems to think so: "I don't last very long. I get frustrated." She goes on to praise the Wii and rant about child obesity in this interview with Yahoo! Games. Go check it out, it's a quick read.
